wisdom from the trail

What I’ve learned from running:

1. Never make a decision while running up or down hill
2. Two kinds of pain: growth pain and injury pain - know the difference
3. Plan your route
4. Know your goal; today's and the future
5. Form is function
6. Breathe
7. It’s all a mind game
8. Variety is good – enjoy the process
9. Clarity of spirit is just a corner away.
10. A little stress goes a long way (intervals, anaerobic)
11. Training is more than a schedule (got to follow it)
12. Hills are euphoric
13. Rest – a day off is better than running tired
14. Muscles are beautiful; they take a long time to sculpt and a minute to fade
15. Know your limits. Be aware of both your strengths and your weakness . Don’t routinely exceed your strengths, don’t let your weakness determine your day.
16. Exertion accesses your deepest core, revealing all you are
17. You can always learn something new
18.  Proper equipment + Proper technique = success (don't cut corners.... ever)
19. Racing the clock is a race.
20. Racing reveals and inspires
