Supper

As a workin' girl now I find that many of my creative energies are not directed toward the evening meal. I do still make almost everything from scratch.The four food groups are in our diet. We still eat together (most nights) and talk about our day around the table. I make a weekly menu and shop accordingly. K.I.S.S. is my mantra.So basic and versatile are the terms of the trip.
I have realized that I really enjoy eating; the flavors, the experience, fresh, tasty, comfort.....I love to eat. And to cook. I would actually say, now, that cooking is a hobby. I miss a routinely elaborate meal. I miss shopping for specific ingredients for just the right touch. I daydream about a dinner party and what I would serve. I fantasize about a perfect brunch or a new way to make salsa. I pour over recipes in mags (at the doctors office) or on the web. On the weekends, sometimes, we decide what we are in the mood for and away we go into the blissful world of kitchen living!
Someday soon ( years are soon, right?) I will once again return to the world of habitual creativity in culinary bliss.
