Isaac has had a severe "headache"; unbearable pain in his head for 8 days now. A visit to the ER, the doctor, A cat scan, an MRI, blood-work with Percoset being the only thing keeping him from dying from sheer pain. He vomits when the pain becomes unbearable and has Zofran to help. Our life has come to a halt. He can not drive, he can barely think, his emotions are all over the place; crying at intervals for no explainable reason.
Tonight a group of friends are getting together to bring in the new year. He wants to go. I cannot imagine that it is healthy... but it is the new year.... and exceptions can be made. So I make pesto pin-wheels and dip pretzels in chocolate, buy some bubbly and smack on a smile.
I am worried. Very. And maybe a bit scared.
But, Lord, I hold onto you TIGHT.
