song bird
There is a song bird outside of my bedroom window that sings through the night. I have never experienced anything quite like it. Typically night are still and birds are quiet, right? Not at my house this year. This persistent and joyous bird cannot ever stop his voice. It is calming to me. His lullaby has lulled me to sleep on more than one occasion. Other nights I am stricken with an over active brain and I awake at midnight or 2am, whatever, wide awake, ready to solve the worlds problems. On those nights it is so nice to know that another living thing is awake in the darkness.
In the lightness of a spring afternoon, humid from the morning rain, I still hear my feathered friends familiar trill. And I smile.
I spent the morning debriefing from a flawlessly executed event that transpired this past weekend. I was privileged to observe women, business women, in their element, confidently creating art in a magnificent way. It was awesome to hear them describe how all their planning and hard work produced unequaled success.
As I listened to each woman's passionate rendition of the day, I saw the event in a new way. My sight expanded.
See, I aided a local photographer with a Senior Model shoot. She had seniors from the tri-county area apply to be her "face" this year. Eight amazing girls were chosen.
The day began at noon, hair and make-up was in full swing by 1:30. Grace, the talented, incredible, awe-inspiring stylist, worked with each girl to use their own clothes to create fashion of the stunning variety. At 2:30 the videographer arrived to interview each girl and capture the day in motion. The theme... breezy, fresh, natural individual fashion. The organizers of the shoot wanted to shine a light on each model and their unique beauty. They believe that each girl is beautiful in a way that no one else is. As artists, their passion is to represent art through connecting to the heartbeat of each girl. An experience that will be remembered as a bright spot in their high-school life, a day of being catered to, pampered, and photographed... a stylist to help you bring out YOU.
And I saw it happen.
Char and Andrea captured each girl and the group of girls in playful, low pressure ease that truly highlighted each girls perfection. Horses watched from the nearby hill, a windmill stood in the distance furiously responding to the fragrant breeze blowing across the countryside. The light sparkled through the trees and lit up eyes. Laughter and lighthearted conversations was heard throughout the day. Pink Starbursts were consumed, lips slowly lost the stain of lipstick and the afternoon turned into the soft glow of evening. Poses at the barn-door ended photos, and cupcakes topped off the day. Comfortably each model languidly walked across the wooden bridge to collect their scattered belongings. Smiles were exchanged as hands waved farewell.
I cannot wait to see the photos, to execute the visual campaign that shows each lovely lady to the world. Stay tuned..... beauty of the highest kind is about to be revealed
